La Trobe University is an Australian university with its campus, the largest metropolitan campus in the country, is located in Melbourne. This University was founded in 1964 on 9th December, becoming the third university in the State. It offers UG and PG courses across its two colleges of Arts, Social Science and Commerce (ASSC) and Science, Health and Engineering (SHE). ASSC consists of the four schools and SHE consists of the nine schools. It was ranked in the top 100 universities in the 2014-15 by Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Further it also features a strong MBA program which has been ranked 14th among business schools and 4th in Australia.
la-trobe-university has strong research and development facility in the areas of arts and humanities. In 2010, La Trobe was running a budget surplus of $29.5 million and now the University took in $618.1 million in income which came from a variety of sources. The University, as of 2013, has an EFTSL (equivalent Full-Time Student Unit) of 36,000, consisting of an international student population of 8000 the collection of English language African materials commenced in the mid 1960s during the University's establishment and consists of approximately 25,000 to 30,000 print titles. It has one of the oldest and largest print collections of material in Australia.
